December 1998 marked the publication of the Grotto Foundation's The Legacy Project: Remembering Louis W. Hill, Jr. Through Oral Histories. The interviews with family members, friends, and colleagues of the founder of the Grotto Foundation were undertaken to enhance the focus of the Foundation's charitable mission. Soon after the death of Louis W. Hill Jr., Grotto board members came to realize that the documentation of the full picture of Louis's vision gave rise to the core values that support all strategies to address the needs of effective organizations. Rather than merely collecting dates and photos, the board reconnected with friends of Louis W. Hill Jr. and preserved their remembrances. This book is available from Grotto at no charge. |
