The Grotto Foundation, Inc., Native Americans in Philanthropy, and Headwater’s Foundation would like to announce their partnership to host the upcoming American Indian Leadership Forum.
The American Indian Family Empowerment Program (AIFEP), a donor-designated fund, has achieved its strategic goal of creating a new foundation called the Tiwahe Foundation. “Tiwahe” means “family” in the Dakota language.
LaVon Lee, Grotto Program Officer, has co–written an article for the Minnesota Council on Foundations Giving Forum newsletter. The article offers cultural insights to philanthropic organizations considering funding to American Indian people.
A Native Language Revitalization Initiative grantee, Niigaane Ojibwemowin Immersion School from Leech Lake, is the recipient of the 2009 Honors List award from the National Indian Education Association (NIEA).
