Focus:
The Grotto Foundation may periodically engage in supportive activities that will advance its Native language initiative. Grotto Foundation may invite proposals from community or tribal partners for the following activities:
- Collaborative efforts and information-sharing among Native communities, such as periodic symposiums and conferences.
- Technical assistance to communities and programs.
- Written reports and white-papers, collecting and presenting Native language research, data, and resources.
- Participation in Native language initiatives on a national scale. Sharing information and resources with national and regional initiatives.
- Periodic convening of a Native Language Revitalization Advisory Panel. Such a panel would advise the Grotto Foundation on its 15-year Native Language Revitalization commitment and giving strategy.
Grants typically range from $20,000 to $60,000, and grant size is indicated for each priority area. Grotto does not usually make multi-year grant commitments. Consideration of funding beyond one year will depend on a program's demonstrated effectiveness.
Please use the following outline as a guide to your proposal narrative. Include the application cover sheet, and try to limit your narrative of the following sections (I through VII) to no more than 12 pages.
